Fragrant, colorful and rich in vitamin C... Lemons!

In Italy when we talk about lemons, the splendid places where they grow always come to mind and to name a few we are talking about the Amalfi Coast, Sicily and also Limone sul Garda, central, southern and northern Italy.

Lemons, in addition to being rich in vitamin C, have a good supply of potassium and help our body in many functions including raising the immune defenses.

  • Drinking a cup of hot water with ½ lemon squeezed in the morning on an empty stomach helps to make our body basic, the ideal condition that indicates there is no inflammation present.

  • Drinking water and lemon before going to bed in the evening has a beneficial anti-stress effect, in fact it seems that its scent helps eliminate stress and promotes sleep.

  • It is believed that those who suffer from constipation should avoid them but in reality they have the opposite effect, they hydrate the stool and help its evacuation.

  • Lemon is believed to help reduce cholesterol by cleansing the veins and regulate blood pressure.

The above remedies are not recommended for those suffering from gastritis, reflux and ulcers as they would worsen the symptoms. Be careful with excessive use as it has an erosive action on the teeth.
